The Honorary Consul General of Seychelles, Maxim Behar, officially presented his new book “The Magic of Seychelles Cuisine and Stories from the “Paradise on Earth” in Sofia. This is the first book of its kind in Bulgaria, entirely dedicated to the cuisine, nature, people and culture of Seychelles.

The premiere of the book attracted the curiosity of members of the royal family in Bulgaria, entrepreneurs, diplomats, media, as well as prominent representatives of the culinary world, among whom was Chef Andre Tokev - the only Global Masterchef Degree winner for Eastern Europe. He shared his positive impressions of the book and the impressive Creole cuisine. You can watch the event here.

“I would like to congratulate Maxim for his desire to promote a cuisine unknown to Bulgaria, but extremely interesting and talked about all over the world. I have read the recipes in the book and they are really very easy to prepare and present a typical mix of exotic flavours of the cuisine,” said Andre Tokev.

“It is true that love for a country can be created through its cuisine, nature and people. These three main aspects really also make the strongest impression on tourists to Seychelles. Apart from the wonderful nature and exceptional hospitality from the locals, visitors also enjoy delicious traditional food that makes their trip even more memorable. Seychellois cuisine is one of their greatest treasures and I hope that with this book it will become even more well-known in Bulgaria and this will bring more tourists to visit this wonderful destination and explore its riches,” said Maxim Behar.

In “The Magic of Seychelles Cuisine and Stories from the “Paradise on Earth” Maxim Behar shares not only delicious and authentic Seychellois recipes, but also unknown facts and amazing stories about the Seychelles, known as the “Heaven on Earth”. He presents his 25 favourite recipes, combining the unique flavours and aromas of Creole cuisine with local produce that can be easily sourced in our country. The book also offers readers a real trip to the exotic islands, introducing them to interesting aspects of the lives of the locals and their traditions, as well as the most popular places to visit to experience the spirit of the Seychelles.

The book can now be purchased from the country's largest bookstores as well as online from Maxim Behar's official website - www.beharbooks.com. And an audio and e-book version of the book will be released soon by Storytel, one of the largest e-book publishers in the world. The release in English is also coming out soon on Amazon.
