Seychelles opens its borders to all tourists vaccinated against COVID-19

As of January 14, 2021, Seychelles will open its borders to visitors from anywhere in the world as long as they have taken both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and provide a negative PCR test taken maximum of 72 hours before departure, said Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Sylvester Radegonde.
In addition, tourists must provide proof of vaccination through a certificate of authenticity issued at least two weeks since administered with second dose of the vaccine, which ensures their free movement without mandatory quarantine in the country.
Non-vaccinated visitors who are currently permitted entry (Categories 1 and 2, private jet passengers) need to provide a negative PCR test obtained less than 72 hours before departure. Tourists who have not been vaccinated and do not fall into these categories are still unable to enter.
This will be in effect until mid-March once the Seychelles vaccinate the majority of its adult population.
As of January 14, nearly 2,000 vaccinations have been given since the launch of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Campaign on January 10, 2021, bringing the campaign closer to its target of 1,000 doses per day, according to the head of the National Technical Working Group for COVID-19 vaccination - Kathleen Cecile, informs Seychelles News Agency.
To date no serious side effects have been reported on any of the vaccinated individuals.
