Health authorities have reported an increase in COVID-19 cases in Seychelles

The health authorities of the Republic of Seychelles reinforce its warnings of an imminent threat of a wider spread of COVID-19 in society, following the detection of 15 new positive cases by 15 December 2020. They bring the total number of 202 tested positive locally.
Among the registered cases are visitors to Mahe Island, a member of the crew of the Seychelles airline, visitors to 3 different hotel resorts, as well as people on a private vessel with a crew of 25 people, who has been placed under quarantine at sea..
Despite follow-up measures and the isolation of those infected, health authorities are urging citizens to become more mindful of the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and stay safe during the holiday season.
